As a System Administrator supporting NAVAIR, you'll collaborate with talented professionals to create innovative, mission-critical solutions that empower naval aviation and defense operations. Your expertise will help shape cutting-edge systems, enhance national security, and drive technological advancement for our nation.

Responsibilities

  • System Administrator with demonstrated experience performing System Administration functions on Aircraft or Weapons Systems networks, and maintaining and upgrading network infrastructures across the NAVAIR community.
  • Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system.
  • Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users.
  • Provide technical assistance to computer users.
  • Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network system.
  • Perform maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
  • Optimize the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans and capabilities.
  • Respond to unexpected or unauthorized service interruptions and outages.
  • Diagnose software and hardware failures to resolution.
  • Implement and ensure security preventive measures are fully functioning.

Qualifications

  • Must have current Top Secret Clearance! ship required. - U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
  • At least 6-8 years of experience.
  • Bachloros Degree
  • Experience with the following:
    • 6-8+ years experience VMware/vSphere Enterprise
    • Linux
    • Software development environment
    • Atlassian tools
    • Familiarity with the following:
    • Windows Server
    • SAN
    • Networking
    • STIGs
    • ACAS
  • COMPTIA Security+ or other DOD INST 8570 compliant qualification required.
  • Operating system certification (i.e. Windows or Linux).
  • Knowledge of networking principles, theories, and concepts and ability to contribute to the development of new and innovative principles and concepts.
  • Work environment is on-site, not hybrid or remote.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $91,600.00/Yr. - USD $153,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
