As a Business Analyst supporting AI initiatives for Investments Technology, you will partner with business and technology teams to define requirements, analyze data, and help shape AI-enabled solutions, including information agents and related automation capabilities. You will translate business needs into clear functional requirements, process flows, data needs, and success measures to support delivery of practical, secure, and high-value AI use cases for the Investments team.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partner with Investments business and technology stakeholders to identify, clarify, and prioritize AI use cases that improve decision support, information access, and process efficiency
- Elicit, document, and validate business, functional, data, and reporting requirements for AI solutions, including information agents and analytics-driven workflows
- Analyze structured and unstructured data to assess data quality, define required inputs, identify gaps, and support AI solution design and business readiness
- Work with product, engineering, data, and architecture teams to translate business requirements into actionable user stories, process flows, data specifications, and acceptance criteria
- Define and document business rules, data definitions, usage guidelines, controls, and traceability needed to support trustworthy AI outcomes
- Perform data analysis, trend analysis, and business process analysis to support requirements definition, solution evaluation, and benefit realization
- Support evaluation of external data sources, AI tools, and vendor capabilities relevant to Investments use cases
- Partner in testing and validation activities by defining test scenarios, expected outcomes, and business acceptance criteria for AI-enabled capabilities
- Facilitate interviews, workshops, and working sessions to align stakeholders on problem statements, requirements, data needs, risks, and success metrics
The successful candidate should exhibit the following skills and abilities:
- Requirements Definition and Analysis - Demonstrated ability to gather, structure, and validate business and functional requirements, define scope, and translate needs into actionable deliverables for technology teams
- Investments Business Knowledge - Understanding of capital markets, investment workflows, and key data domains across Fixed Income, Equities, Alternatives, Derivatives, and Real Estate
- Business and Data Analysis - Strong ability to analyze business processes and data, identify patterns and gaps, and develop insights that improve requirements quality and solution outcomes
- AI Fluency, Communication and Facilitation - Ability to explain AI concepts, assumptions, risks, and outputs in business terms, facilitate cross-functional discussions, and communicate clearly with both business and technical stakeholders
Technical and Analytical Skills:
- SQL and data query experience for profiling, validating, and analyzing business data
- Working knowledge of relational databases, data structures, and data lineage concepts
- Experience with reporting, dashboard, and analysis tools such as Power BI, Excel, or similar business intelligence platforms
- Familiarity with AI, generative AI, or information agent concepts and the ability to support requirement definition for these solutions
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or technology delivery within a financial institution; Investments experience strongly preferred
- Hands-on participation in technology projects using structured delivery methods, including requirements gathering, testing support, and stakeholder alignment
- Experience facilitating workshops and working sessions with associates across business and technology organizations
- Experience using data analysis and query tools to investigate issues, evaluate trends, and support business decisions
- College degree required with focus in Business, Finance, MIS, Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications in business analysis, data analytics, AI, or investments are a plus
Salary/Rate: $50-$65/HR (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week.
