GenAI Data Scientist (Contingent Assignment)

Location: Onsite - Charlotte, NC
Duration: 9 Months

About the Role

We are seeking a GenAI Data Scientist to support enterprise Generative AI initiatives through advanced analytics, model assessment, and data-driven insights. In this role, you will work with large and complex datasets to understand model behavior, evaluate performance, and influence product and engineering decisions. You will also provide strategic consultation on complex systems architecture challenges with broad organizational impact.
What You'll Do
GenAI & Data Science Responsibilities
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, gaps, and anomalies.
  • Support development and evaluation of LLMs and GenAI models, including fine-tuning and performance optimization.
  • Design, run, and assess experiments to measure model behavior and outcomes.
  • Define metrics to evaluate model quality, fairness, bias, and business impact.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to influence feature development and model design.
  • Produce analytical insights, dashboards, visualizations, and executive-ready reports.
Systems Architecture Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze complex architecture challenges across large-scale initiatives.
  • Evaluate multiple technical, operational, and compliance factors to guide architectural decisions.
  • Provide strategic consultation to client teams on systems architecture and long-term planning.
  • Support resolution of multi-faceted technical issues requiring strong domain, policy, and compliance knowledge.
Key Deliverables
  • Data analysis reports and insight summaries
  • Model evaluation frameworks and performance dashboards
  • Experiment plans, methodologies, and results documentation
  • Visualizations and BI assets for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Recommendations to improve model performance, reliability, and business value
Required Technical Skills
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs and Generative AI concepts
  • Proficiency in Python (data analysis, ML libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow)
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale data manipulation
  • Experience with advanced analytics, experimentation, and BI tools
  • Background in model evaluation, performance metrics, and statistical testing
Required Competencies

  • Curiosity and a hypothesis-driven mindset
  • Ability to communicate complex findings clearly and concisely
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Awareness of responsible AI, ethics, fairness, and risk considerations
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Systems Architecture, or equivalent combination of:
    • Professional or consulting experience
    • Military or technical training
    • Relevant education
