Position Description

**This position will be onsite in Grand Prairie, TX**The Product Engineering Supervisor reports to the Engineering Manager at the Rockbridge facility. She/he works within the Engineering Department to lead the design chillers manufactured by the Data Center team. This position will be responsible for the leading design of assigned products. He or she is responsible for the supervision of assigned designers and engineers.

She/he shall also have strong communication skills

Responsibilities will include the following as assigned by the Engineering Manager:
Lead the design & development of new Chiller products or modify existing to meet customer requirements and create supporting documentation based on project scope, market needs and regulatory requirements for the Data Center Vertical.
Evaluates and designs electromechanical products by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer and materials.
Manage finite element modeling and structural simulation for the products. Interpret FEA results and recommend design changes/directions to meet product performance requirements.
Interface with other Modine regions, manufacturing locations, and/or customers to assure a smooth transition from one region to another with global product development.
Assists the manufacturing team in developing manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
Support customer applications with heat transfer, energy and/or chiller system designs.
Review of approval and manufacturing drawing packages.
Travel to other regions (Leeds, UK) and customer sites if needed (10-15%).
Develop the chiller design skill set of assigned personnel

Required Education & Qualifications

The minimum requirement is a college graduate in engineering or related technical discipline with 10 - 15 years engineering experience, or a master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, with 8 - 10 years engineering experience. The Product Engineering Supervisor shall have a strong fundamental background and/or experience in chillers, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and psychometrics. Solid Works or Creo experience preferred.
