Job Title: AutoCAD Technician
Job Location: Seattle, WA 98101
Job Duration: 12 months Contract
Pay Rate: $45.00/hr to $48.00/hr
Job Description:
Responsible for developing detailed 2D and 3D AutoCAD layouts that define the physical design of a new robotics factory, integrating equipment models and spatial data to support simulation, planning, and construction.
Auto CAD Responsibilities:
DAY TO DAY
- Orchestrate the development of 2D and 3D master layouts by accurately mapping the physical relationship between automated robotics, heavy machinery, and structural building elements.
- Coordinate with simulation teams to transform conceptual flow diagrams into functional floor footprints that account for operator ergonomics and material handling paths.
- Source and integrate diverse supplier CAD data into a unified facility model, ensuring all equipment intake points align perfectly with available utility drops and maintenance zones.
- Execute iterative design updates to accommodate shifting production requirements while maintaining meticulous version control and technical documentation for construction teams.
- Audit site layouts against industrial safety standards to identify spatial conflicts or bottlenecks, proposing structural adjustments that improve overall square-footage utilization.
- Manage a steady pipeline of drafting deliverables through ticket-based workflows, providing the high-precision drawings that serve as the foundation for the factory s physical build-out.
MUST HAVES
- 5 years of professional drafting experience specifically centered on the complex spatial demands of large-scale industrial and manufacturing environments.
- Proven ability to interpret technical specifications and translate machine dimensions into functional 3D spatial designs that respect facility constraints.
- Demonstrated history of working independently to meet rigorous project deadlines, maintaining clear communication with remote engineering stakeholders.
- Thorough understanding of the structural and architectural codes required to design safe, compliant industrial workspaces and equipment clearances.
- Strong background in cross-functional collaboration, effectively syncing with simulation, mechanical, and operations teams to reach a design consensus.
PLUSSES:
- Practical exposure to factory simulation platforms like Visual Components or FlexSim to validate throughput and identify potential line congestion.
- Professional proficiency in SolidWorks or Revit, enabling more granular 3D modeling of custom equipment and complex MEP integration.
- Comprehensive understanding of modular or parametric design principles, allowing for the creation of repeatable and scalable factory work cells.
