Summary

Job Summary:

The Analyst will investigate, evaluate, and propose a range of sales enhancement strategies to tackle targeted opportunities within a defined product portfolio. After formulating hypotheses toward achieving goals, the BPI Analyst will serve as a visionary and influencer in partnership with a diverse, cross-functional team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform standardized analytics to define the current state of the product portfolio. Utilize analytical tools to assess assortment definition and scope, current spend, cost drivers, customer and segment landscape, and comparisons across markets.
  • Provide input in the development of the Annual Category Review, leveraging insights and data to inform decision-making. Conduct in-depth research to identify assortment and sales opportunities within the given product portfolio. Assess and evaluate various sales enabling levers to address specific opportunities effectively.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to develop strategies, assumptions, and analysis deliverables based on in-depth data-driven insights. Provide thought leadership and recommendations to drive profitable growth and goal attainment.
  • Communicate Category and Assortment Strategies, Goals, and Tactics that include the scope of control and the portfolio of products required to accomplish the objective.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Sysco's Food Service Distribution model. Utilize knowledge of activation levers and processes to drive goal attainment effectively.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance, and enhancement/optimization of reports and tools to improve the usability of Sysco's internal data sources. Drive long-term support for internal data management by identifying and implementing opportunities to further leverage 3rd party tools.


Education Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in business or Related Field

Experience Required:
  • 2+ years of experience.
  • This role demands a comprehensive understanding of Food Service Distribution models, including assortment strategies and processes essential for achieving business objectives.


Experience Preferred:
  • Food Service Distribution, Consulting, Retail/CPG, Restaurant Operations


Technical Skills and Abilities:
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Proficiency in SQL required with preference towards Python.
  • Analytical thinker who can draw sound business conclusions from multiple sources of information and has a strong curiosity of data.
  • Experienced quantitative problem solver who can manage complex issues and interpret large data sets comfortably.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present complex data insights in a clear and concise manner.
  • Self-driven individual who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Possesses general business acumen and can turn a business problem into a data-driven solution.
  • Active learner with a propensity for continuous improvement.
  • Able to work independently and proactively within the defined scope of responsibility.
  • Detail-oriented.
