Role Overview
We are seeking an Azure Platform Architect responsible for leading end to end cloud migration discovery, assessment, and planning initiatives. The role focuses on defining migration strategies, building scalable Azure architectures, and governing execution across enterprise workloads.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Azure migrations, landing zone design, and cloud governance, along with the ability to coordinate across business, security, and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end to end migration discovery including application inventory, ownership identification, and workload classification.
Perform migration readiness assessments including dependency mapping, sizing, and risk identification.
Define migration strategies such as rehost, replatform, refactor, retire, or retain.
Develop migration wave plans and sequencing strategies based on dependencies and business priorities.
Design Azure subscriptions and landing zone architectures aligned with enterprise standards.
Use Azure migration tools such as Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, and Database Migration Service.
Implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
Create and maintain migration documentation including architecture diagrams and dependency maps.
Define and operate migration factory models including intake, assessment, planning, and execution tracking.
Collaborate with application owners, security, and operations teams to ensure successful migrations.
Support migration of Azure services including Virtual Machines, SQL databases, and storage accounts.
Assess legacy environments and define long term retention strategies.
Leverage Azure Monitor and Application Insights for monitoring and performance tracking.
Utilize scripting tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python for automation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
8–10 years of experience in cloud architecture and migration roles.
Experience leading large scale Azure migration programs.
Technical Skills
Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure platform and services.
Experience with Azure Landing Zone design and subscription management.
Experience with Azure migration tools including Azure Migrate, ASR, and DMS.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure Well Architected Framework.
Experience with scripting using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
Experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub for deployment and automation.
Experience with Azure Arc and hybrid cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications
Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate.
