Job#: 3034944 Job Description: Position: Project Manager - Community Safety/Crisis OperationsLocation: Hybrid 3x/onsite - Hawthorne, CADuration: 10-month contractPay Rate: $40-$45/hr.Role Overview
You will serve as a first responder for live community safety services, providing real-time operational support during active events and ensuring service integrity. When not responding to active incidents, you will document workflows, identify automation opportunities, and help build the operational playbooks that will scale these services. This role requires participation in an on-call rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to operational issues across various community safety services.
- Support third-party partners in initiating and managing service events.
- Coordinate with reporters during active events to ensure accurate data and appropriate community notifications.
- Supervise AI-assisted workflows, flagging high-risk events and escalating to local agencies as appropriate.
- Maintain detailed incident logs and conduct post-event retrospectives.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each service.
- Identify manual processes suitable for automation and partner with engineering to implement improvements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation with defined response SLAs.
Basic Qualifications- 3+ years of experience in trust & safety, community operations, crisis communications, or a related field
- Strong judgment in fast-paced, ambiguous, and time-sensitive situations
- Excellent written communication skills, particularly for partner and agency coordination
- Comfort working with AI-assisted workflows and escalation processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in emergency management, public safety dispatch, or crisis center operations.
- Familiarity with animal welfare organizations or pet technology platforms.
- Background in process documentation, workflow design, or operations automation.
- Experience working with third-party API integrations or partner support.
