Description:
Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid - 4 days onsite per week)

Our client seeks an IT Audit Controls/SOX Manager with data and code experience to lead internal audit engagements across industries. This is an opportunity to partner with senior stakeholders, lead high-performing teams, and leverage emerging technologies, including AI-enabled audit solutions, to modernize risk and compliance programs.

Rate: $95-$100/hr W2

Responsibilities:

Lead IT audit and SOX compliance engagements with a focus on automated controls and technology risk.
Evaluate the effectiveness of IT general controls (ITGCs), application controls, and financial reporting controls.
Utilize data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve audit efficiency and effectiveness.
Identify control gaps, operational risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
Develop audit strategies, risk assessments, and testing methodologies.
Present findings and recommendations to business and executive stakeholders.
Mentor and develop audit team members while promoting best practices and quality standards.
Support internal audit transformation initiatives, including co-sourced and outsourced audit models.
Build strong relationships across business and technology organizations while navigating complex stakeholder environments.

Experience Requirements:

Proven experience managing IT Audit, Internal Audit, and SOX compliance programs.
Strong background testing IT automated controls, application controls, and technology-related risks.
Hands-on experience with data analysis, scripting, coding, or audit automation tools.
Experience leveraging AI, analytics, or other emerging technologies within audit or risk functions.
Demonstrated success leading audit teams, managing project budgets, and delivering high-quality client outcomes.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to translate technical risks into business-focused recommendations.
Public accounting, consulting, or professional services experience.
Experience leading audit transformation or control modernization initiatives.
Relevant certifications such as CPA, CISA, CIA, CISSP, or similar credentials.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Master's degree and/or relevant professional certifications preferred.

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
