Position Title: IT Manager
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Location: St. Paul, MN
Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000
The IT Manager is responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading all computer related activities within the organization. This role identifies technology needs, develops strategies to meet those needs, and implements systems that support operational goals. The IT Manager oversees the organization's telecommunications and electronic support systems and provides leadership to the IT Infrastructure/Operations team, including Systems Administrators, System Engineers, Security staff, Mobile/MDM Technicians, Helpdesk/Desktop Technicians, Network Administrators, and related personnel.
Essential Job Duties
- Lead major IT initiatives, including the design, deployment, and optimization of new systems and services.
- Ensure compliance with asset management policies for all hardware containing storage devices.
- Monitor IT system performance, analyzing cost and productivity to recommend improvements.
- Oversee lifecycle and capacity management for IT infrastructure.
- Define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and operational processes.
- Direct the design, implementation, and enhancement of enterprise systems, applications, and infrastructure.
- Participate in security programs and adopt new methodologies as appropriate.
- Evaluate technology vendors and manage related contracts.
- Collaborate with internal business units to identify and implement IT improvements.
- Ensure ITSM practices align with the ITIL framework, including incident, problem, and change management.
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of a CMDB, including policy and process accuracy.
- Develop and maintain IT Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Create and manage IT training guides for end users and support staff.
- Coordinate IT support efforts related to workforce changes, acquisitions, and training activities.
- Assist IT leadership in managing large technology projects.
- Support IT leadership with vendor relationships, contract management, and technology refresh plans.
- Partner with IT leadership on staffing, training, professional development, and team building initiatives.
- Conduct regular system audits and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Maintain and support disaster recovery planning and readiness.
- Ensure timely and appropriate communication to end users regarding outages or service changes.
- Help maintain accurate budgets and track ongoing IT expenses.
- Work with budgeting and spend management teams to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
- Attend meetings and represent the IT function as required.
- Enforce and measure compliance with IT policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Training, and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, required; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Master's degree in a related discipline, preferred.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
- 10 years of IT service operations management experience, required.
- 5 years of experience with Microsoft Server, Azure, and Office products, preferred.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Proficiency in IT architecture, design, processes, and operational procedures.
