Quick summary:
Client is seeking an experienced Project/Program Manager to support technology delivery, process improvement, and cross-functional coordination within its Finance organization. This individual will work closely with business stakeholders, SAP development teams, technical leaders, and other IT partners to drive project execution, improve operational efficiency, and establish consistent processes across teams.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in IT project/program management, experience supporting SAP development environments, and the ability to introduce structure, governance, and standardized delivery practices across business and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate technology projects and initiatives supporting USAA's Finance organization, with an emphasis on SAP-related development and delivery.
• Partner with SAP developers, technical leads, business analysts, and Finance stakeholders to manage project priorities, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Evaluate existing business and technical workflows to identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and operational efficiency.
• Establish and maintain consistent project management processes, reporting structures, governance practices, and delivery standards.
• Facilitate communication and alignment between business stakeholders and technical development teams.
• Manage project schedules, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
• Coordinate SAP development activities, including requirements gathering, development planning, testing, release coordination, and production implementation.
• Drive accountability across teams by establishing clear milestones, ownership, and measurable outcomes.
• Support Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies based on project requirements.
• Develop project documentation, status reports, dashboards, and executive-level updates.
• Identify delivery bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve team performance and execution.
Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of IT project management or program management experience, preferably within enterprise technology environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing or supporting SAP development teams and SAP-related technology initiatives.
• Experience coordinating technical delivery across software developers, business analysts, QA/testing teams, and business stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), project governance, and release management.
• Proven experience establishing or improving processes, workflows, and delivery standards across multiple teams.
• Experience managing complex cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project management methodologies.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate business objectives into actionable technical project plans.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting Finance, Accounting, ERP, or enterprise financial systems.
• Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, or related SAP financial applications.
• Experience with SAP integrations, enhancements, system upgrades, or enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Prior experience in financial services, banking, insurance, or other highly regulated environments.
• PMP, Scrum Master, SAFe, or Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Microsoft Project, or similar project management tools.
• Experience implementing PMO standards, process governance, or organizational delivery improvements.
