Job#: 3025637 Job Description: This role supports a mission-critical program focused on building and managing a globally distributed, Kubernetes-based hosting environment for next-generation enterprise and tactical applications.
As a Lead Architect, you will guide the design and implementation of a modern, cloud-native infrastructure. You will leverage DevSecOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to deliver a secure, automated, and resilient platform. This position offers the opportunity to shape the future of a large-scale application ecosystem within a forward-leaning managed service provider environment.
Position Duties- Develop and own the DevSecOps and automation framework supporting all production and non-production environments.
- Architect and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines for automated provisioning, configuration management, and deployment.
- Recommend and implement tools, processes, and service improvements to enhance automation capabilities.
- Lead the automated installation, configuration, and lifecycle management of Kubernetes clusters, including complex CNI and CSI integrations.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for troubleshooting and root cause analysis across Kubernetes, containerized applications, and automation frameworks.
- Harden platform components in alignment with cybersecurity controls and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and application owners to deliver secure, automated hosting environments.
- Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, network topologies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Promote automation best practices across the organization, mentoring peers and documenting standards.

- Secrets Management: Hashicorp Vault
- CI/CD & DevOps: GitLab Ultimate Suite
- Scripting & Automation: Python, PowerShell, Bash
Required Skills- Senior-level expertise with IaC in automated network configuration, server deployment, and software provisioning.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Vault, and GitLab.
- Deep knowledge of containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes orchestration.
Desired Skills- Experience automating Kubernetes cluster deployments.
- Strong skills in writing modular, reusable Ansible Playbooks/Roles.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity hardening standards (e.g., STIGs or similar industry best practices).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across distributed systems.
- Experience deploying and upgrading clusters in disconnected or limited-connectivity environments.
Clearance Required:Must hold a DoD Secret security clearance.
