Job Description – Expert Solution Architect (Solution Design)

Location: Quincy, MA or Princeton, NJ (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Expert Solution Architect to lead the design and execution of enterprise application migration and modernization initiatives across AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms. This role is responsible for defining Target State Architecture (TSA), developing cloud migration strategies, and providing technical leadership throughout discovery, planning, migration, and post-production stabilization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps, security, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

· Design Target State Architecture (TSA) and develop cloud migration roadmaps.

· Lead application discovery, dependency mapping, migration wave planning, and technical assessments.

· Architect and deploy cloud solutions on AWS and Azure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, and Harness).

· Design and implement IaaS and PaaS solutions, including compute, storage, networking, databases, and managed services.

· Develop migration runbooks, cutover plans, rollback strategies, and post-migration support plans.

· Support database migration, disaster recovery, Active Directory integration, and cloud networking.

· Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices to automate deployments.

· Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory standards through vulnerability assessments, authentication testing, and security controls.

· Participate in architecture reviews, governance meetings, and technical decision-making with internal and client stakeholders.

· Provide technical leadership during migration execution, troubleshooting, and production stabilization.

Required Qualifications

· 10+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Cloud Infrastructure, or Enterprise Application Migration.

· Strong expertise in AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud platforms.

· Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, Harness, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

· Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud automation.

· Knowledge of container platforms including ECS, EKS, AKS, and App Service Containers.

· Experience with database migration, storage modernization, disaster recovery, and cloud networking.

· Understanding of security best practices, vulnerability scanning, IAM/SSO, compliance, and governance.

· Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· AWS Solutions Architect Professional or Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.

· Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.

· Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization.

· Exposure to AI/ML integration in cloud migration programs.
