MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of 60 semester credits to include 15 semester credits inc a computer related field are required or two years of experience in console operations, or specialized computer operationssuch as printers are required; or high school diploma or GED and three years of experience in console operations, or specialized computer operatoins such as printers are required.
RECRUITMENT NOTES:
Miami-Dade County''s Communicatoins, Information & Technology Department (CITD) is recruiting for a full-time IT Senior Computer Operater assigned to the Operations Unit within the Enterprise Data Center Division. The Operations Unit provides 24-hou, seven-day-a-week coverage to ensure the continuous support, monitoring, and availability of the County''s mainframed and distributed computer systems, including associated hardware, software, and applications.
Job components include the following:
- managing mainframe console operations
- monitoring systems using SolarWinds and other network monitoring tools
- overseeing enterpise job scheduling
- operating high-speed laser printers
- utilizing post-processing equipment such as pressure sealers
- providing after-hours help desk support
Additional responsibilities include:
- Operating as county vehicle/van for the delivery and distribution of computer reports, as required.
The work schedule for this psoition is from 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM and will require work on weekends, holidays, and overtime. Unit works 24x7, due to operational necessity, work schedule can be changed to 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM or 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
