Role: Ansible Engineer

Locations: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid Onsite)

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Note: Candidate needs to be in the office 3-4 Days every week. Local or candidates from adjacent states only.

Job Description:

·         We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Ansible and Python to design, develop, and maintain infrastructure and application automation solutions.

·         The ideal candidate will work closely with DevOps, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and scalability across environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections for infrastructure and application automation
• Develop Python scripts and frameworks for automation, orchestration, and system integration
• Automate configuration management, provisioning, patching, and deployment processes
• Integrate Ansible and Python automation with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Work with Linux/Unix systems for automation and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with Cloud, DevOps, and SRE teams to implement best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation failures and performance issues
• Maintain documentation for automation workflows and operational procedures
• Ensure security, compliance, and standardization through automation

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventories, Ansible Tower/AWX preferred)
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
• Solid experience with Linux/Unix systems
• Knowledge of YAML, JSON, REST APIs, and shell scripting
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management concepts
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
• Exposure to Terraform or other IaC tools
• Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, ELK, Splunk)
• Understanding of security automation and compliance controls
• Agile/Scrum experience
