Summary

We are looking for a Automation Engineer for our client in Charlotte, NC
Job Title: Automation Engineer
Job Location: Charlotte, NC

Job Overview:
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections for infrastructure and application automation.
  • Develop Python scripts and frameworks for automation, orchestration, and system integration.
  • Automate configuration management, provisioning, patching, and deployment processes.
  • Integrate Ansible and Python automation with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • Work with Linux/Unix systems for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with Cloud, DevOps, and SRE teams to implement best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation failures and performance issues.
  • Maintain documentation for automation workflows and operational procedures.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and standardization through automation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong hands-on experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventories, Ansible Tower/AWX preferred).
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
  • Solid experience with Linux/Unix systems.
  • Knowledge of YAML, JSON, REST APIs, and shell scripting.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git).
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Exposure to Terraform or other IaC tools.
  • Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, ELK, Splunk).
  • Understanding of security automation and compliance controls.
  • Agile/Scrum experience.
