We are looking for a Automation Engineer for our client in Charlotte, NC

Job Title: Automation Engineer

Job Overview:

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections for infrastructure and application automation.
Develop Python scripts and frameworks for automation, orchestration, and system integration.
Automate configuration management, provisioning, patching, and deployment processes.
Integrate Ansible and Python automation with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
Work with Linux/Unix systems for automation and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with Cloud, DevOps, and SRE teams to implement best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve automation failures and performance issues.
Maintain documentation for automation workflows and operational procedures.
Ensure security, compliance, and standardization through automation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Strong hands-on experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventories, Ansible Tower/AWX preferred).
Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
Solid experience with Linux/Unix systems.
Knowledge of YAML, JSON, REST APIs, and shell scripting.
Experience with version control systems (Git).
Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools.
Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management concepts.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
Exposure to Terraform or other IaC tools.
Knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, ELK, Splunk).
Understanding of security automation and compliance controls.
Agile/Scrum experience.
