Expert level knowledge of core Java concepts and frameworks such as Spring Boot, Microservices, and well-versed in OOPs concepts and design patterns.
Hands-on experience with Apache Spark (with Java).
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
Extensive development expertise in building the high scaled and performant software platforms for data computation and processing.
Knowledge of containerized deployments and cloud-native architecture.
Familiarity with Agile software development and DevOps best practices.
Experience with relational and/or document-oriented databases.
Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting.
Ability to translate business and analytical requirements into efficient technical solutions.

Overview:
We are looking for an expert Senior Java Spark Developer to join our Market Risk Technology team. You will build and optimize distributed, scalable data platforms that compute vital risk analytics, such as Value at Risk (VaR), Stress Testing for our global trading portfolios. You will architect big data solutions, drive performance tuning, and partner with quantitative researchers and risk managers.
This is a hands-on Lead Engineer role. The successful candidate will spend a significant portion of their time designing, building, and optimizing Java-based systems, while also providing technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship within the squad.
The Market Risk Technology Team develops software to measure and monitor Market Risk and Capital for the Firm's global portfolio. We are responsible for designing and implementing technological solutions that calculate the Market Risk of the Firm. Our systems support daily risk simulations and analytics that estimate potential losses across multiple time horizons. We work closely with Risk Managers, Market Risk Analytics teams, senior management, and regulatory stakeholders globally. The Market Risk Technology team continually evolves its suite of risk management tools, frameworks, and processes-or builds new ones-to meet a frequently changing business and regulatory landscape.
This is a high-visibility, high-impact role that offers the opportunity to shape the future of risk technology at scale, work alongside some of the brightest minds in quantitative finance and technology, and make a tangible contribution to the firm's risk management culture and capabilities.
Job Duties
Deeply hands-on development while leading technical design and implementation of key components of the Market Risk platform.
Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization and discuss opportunities for improvement to existing and future technology solutions.
Implement scalable and high-performance computing solutions for computing market risk & providing analysis capabilities.
Implement containerized deployment and integrate with modern data platforms such as Snowflake for cloud-based data processing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and global counterparts to deliver high-quality solutions.
Optimize risk data processing pipelines to improve efficiency and response time.
Partner with Risk, Model Governance, and Compliance stakeholders to ensure regulatory requirements are accurately implemented in market risk technology.
Work in an Agile development environment, ensuring timely and efficient product delivery.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers in the squad.
