We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Finance Manager to lead the financial operations for our dynamic game development studio. In this role, you will be the backbone of our financial integrity, bridging the gap between complex accounting standards and the creative energy of game production. You will manage full-cycle accounting, oversee project-based cost tracking, and serve as a vital partner to studio leadership in a fast-paced, global technology environment.

responsibilities:
Core Accounting & Financial Operations
- General Ledger Management: Lead day-to-day operations, including month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations in strict accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- AP/AR Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle of Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring timely vendor payments, accurate invoicing, and efficient collections.
- Internal Controls: Maintain and strengthen internal financial processes to ensure global compliance and audit readiness.
- Corporate Programs: Administer the corporate credit card program and lead annual tax reporting processes, including 1099 filings.
Project Accounting & Studio Partnership- Development Cost Tracking: Own the financial reporting for game projects, ensuring proper accounting treatment for all development activities.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead annual budgeting and long-range planning for studio operations and specific development initiatives.
- Strategic Insight: Partner with production and studio leadership to monitor budgets, analyze spending, and translate financial data into actionable insights for key business decisions.
- Contract Management: Maintain financial oversight of vendor, talent, leasing, and royalty contracts to ensure alignment with production timelines.
Compliance & Reporting- Tax Credit Coordination: Manage submissions and auditor communications for the Louisiana Economic Development tax credit program.
- Regulatory Filings: Prepare and file EEO-1 and California Pay Data reports; compile annual salary and merit increase reports.
- Industry Benchmarking: Ensure accurate data collection and submission for annual Croner reports and other ad-hoc leadership requests.
qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or MBA is highly preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or controllership, ideally within game development, entertainment, or technology sectors.
Technical Skills: * Advanced proficiency in Excel and modern financial systems.
Experience with QuickBooks Online is preferred.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and project-based accounting.
Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical and organizational abilities. You must be able to communicate effectively with both technical engineers and creative teams.
Industry Savvy: Proven experience supporting product development environments and managing complex royalty or royalty-adjacent obligations.
