Senior Network and Infrastructure Engineer

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network and Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Troy, Michigan on a Contract assignment. In this role, you will provide hands-on technical leadership across enterprise infrastructure, network operations, and systems support while helping ensure stable, secure, and well-documented environments. This position works closely with internal technology teams, external partners, and service providers to coordinate implementation efforts, resolve complex issues, and support operational readiness.

Responsibilities:

Lead and support infrastructure implementation activities, including planning, execution, testing, and post-deployment validation across enterprise environments.

Administer and troubleshoot core Microsoft services such as Active Directory, Windows Server, Group Policy, domain services, and authentication-related components.

Coordinate network and infrastructure work with internal teams, vendors, and managed partners to keep project milestones on track and reduce disruption to business operations.

Verify connectivity across on-premises, cloud-based, hosted, and third-party systems, resolving issues involving routing, firewalls, and secure access paths.

Assist with application and platform readiness by reviewing dependencies, integrations, certificates, scheduled processes, and supporting server environments.

Create and maintain technical diagrams, configuration records, runbooks, test results, rollback procedures, and other operational documentation.

Participate in cutover preparation, deployment rehearsals, go-live activities, and stabilization support following implementation events.

Identify technical risks, escalate blockers when needed, and contribute to change control, security, and governance practices throughout delivery activities.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure support, or systems administration roles.
Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco networking technologies, including Cisco routers, Cisco ASA, and Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
Experience supporting enterprise Windows environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server administration.
Proven ability to troubleshoot network connectivity, firewall behavior, routing issues, and secure file transfer processes such as FTP.
Familiarity with infrastructure validation, technical documentation, and production support in complex enterprise environments.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional IT teams, third-party vendors, and managed service providers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document processes and communicate technical issues clearly.
