The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians in a high-speed food manufacturing environment. This individual will oversee daily maintenance operations, ensure equipment reliability, and drive preventative maintenance initiatives to minimize downtime and support production goals.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians across one or more shifts
  • Assign and prioritize work orders, preventive maintenance (PMs), and emergency repairs to ensure optimal equipment uptime

Partner closely with production and quality teams to resolve equipment issues quickly and safely
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical failures and implement corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and downtime reduction
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, food safety regulations (GMP, HACCP), and company policies
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and part usage within CMMS
  • Participate in equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements

Technical Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including three-phase 480V power distribution and lower-voltage control systems (110V and 24V)
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting automated controls, including PLC-driven systems (Allen-Bradley preferred)
  • Proficient in welding techniques, including TIG and stick welding for equipment repair and modification
  • Skilled in using various cutting tools and equipment such as torches, band saws, grinders, and plasma cutters
  • Ability to fabricate basic components and guards (e.g., covers, chutes, catch pans) to support operational needs
  • Familiarity with machining equipment including drill presses, mills, lathes, and other shop tools used for part repair and fabrication

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing or food production environment
  • Hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a production setting (food, beverage, dairy, or similar preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Experience working in a regulated environment with emphasis on safety, sanitation, and quality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with shifting priorities
