Summary

Role Summary
This position involves overseeing and maintaining essential facilities infrastructure to ensure the continuous operation of critical air traffic management systems within the Albuquerque, NM region. The role requires travel throughout the surrounding area to support multiple locations, serving as a key contributor to the safety and efficiency of the nation's airspace. The candidate will work at a designated FAA site, supporting long-term infrastructure and security requirements in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize physical facilities, including generators, HVAC systems, racks, cabling, and site security systems
  • Oversee vendor escort procedures, ensuring proper monitoring of visitors, contractors, and non-badged personnel at all times
  • Lead installation, testing, and ongoing maintenance of telecommunications equipment such as switches, routers, and fiber-optic cabling
  • Maintain and troubleshoot critical power systems, including DC power supplies, rectifiers, and battery backups
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards for all facility operations and infrastructure projects
  • Review technical designs and contractor work to verify adherence to standards and specifications
  • Manage physical security protocols and ensure sensitive sites are protected against unauthorized access
  • Support travel to multiple regional locations, coordinating maintenance and upgrade activities as needed
  • Assist with implementing sustainable building practices, energy-efficient systems, and regulatory compliance measures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system installation, repair, and operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in facilities engineering, management, or related fields
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent additional experience
  • Proven expertise in HVAC, power distribution, cabling standards, and building infrastructure systems
  • Experience reviewing technical design plans and contractor work for compliance with safety and technical standards
  • Knowledge of regulatory and safety frameworks applicable to critical infrastructure
  • Background in physical security standards for sensitive facilities
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel regionally, supporting multiple sites and infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with FAA programs, NAS systems, or air traffic control environments is preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or facility/building management certifications are advantageous

Publishing Pay Range: $49.00 - $54.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
