Quest Migration Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Quest Migration Engineer Houston, TX.

Summary:
We are seeking experienced Engineers to lead a high-impact Active Directory migration project for a large enterprise client. You will serve as subject matter experts (SMEs), guiding up to five staff augmentation resources, and will be responsible for troubleshooting, scheduling, and deep analysis of migration processes using Quest Binary Tree.

Key Responsibilities:
* Quest Migration Engineer will lead and support a multi-domain migration to a single Active Directory domain using Quest Binary Tree tools
* Diagnose migration failures, identify trends, and troubleshoot issues in both technical and non-technical terms
* Schedule and manually push migration jobs; Monitor daily job execution and escalate failures
* Provide project status updates, metrics, and issue tracking to leadership
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve integration and tool-related issues
* As a Quest Migration Engineer, you will direct and mentor junior staff on best practices, processes, and escalation protocols
* Ensure secure and efficient migration across on-premises, Azure, and cloud environments

REQUIREMENTS:
* Proven experience with Quest AD Migration tools, especially Binary Tree
* Hands-on experience with Enterprise AD migrations across multiple domains
* Strong background in GPOs, local policies, replication, and ACLs
* Deep understanding of Active Directory structure
* Hybrid identity expertise, Azure AD (Entra ID), on-prem AD, and cloud integration
* Quest Binary Tree proficiency migration scheduling, job execution, failure analysis
* Proficiency in Shell scripting and error log analysis
* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
* Comfortable leading and mentoring others while managing escalations
* Ability to operate in an unstructured environment with minimal supervision
* Ability to communicate effectively with end users and technical teams
* Binary Tree certifications are a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
