Summary

Duration: 6+ Months

Location: MN-Rochester, Hybrid 3-4 days onsite

Overview: Every consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services offers to clients. As an IT Application Analyst, you will join the Business Transformation practice. The Business Transformation practice is dedicated to diagnosing and addressing core business challenges including regulatory compliance, full-scale implementation, managing change and driving continuous improvement across transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Platform Support and Optimization

Configure, maintain, and support the inpatient video visit application and associated peripherals (e.g., bedside tablets, cameras, audio devices)

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolution to minimize disruptions to patient care

Maintain system configurations, templates, and user roles aligned with clinical workflows

Clinical Workflow Integration

Collaborate with nursing, physicians, case management, and ancillary services to integrate video visits into inpatient care processes

Analyze clinical workflows and recommend improvements to enhance patient engagement, remote rounding, specialist consults, and family visitation

Ensure the platform supports infection control protocols, patient safety, and accessibility needs

Vendor Coordination

Serve as the primary operational contact for the video visit software vendor

Coordinate vendor upgrades, patches, and feature releases in alignment with change management processes

Validate new functionality and ensure compatibility with integrated systems

Integration and Interoperability

Support integrations with EHR systems, scheduling tools, identity management, and patient portals

Assist with data mapping, interface validation, and troubleshooting related to HL7/FHIR interfaces and APIs

Ensure accurate documentation of integration points and data flows

Compliance, Security, and Patient Privacy

Ensure application use complies with HIPAA, HITECH, and organizational privacy policies

Participate in security reviews, access audits, and risk assessments

Safeguard protected health information (PHI) in system configurations and workflows

Training and Adoption

Develop training materials and provide end-user education for clinicians and support staff

Support go-live activities, rounding, and at-the-elbow assistance during new unit rollouts

Gather user feedback and drive adoption through workflow improvements and usability enhancements

Incident and Change Management

Respond to incidents and service requests related to inpatient video visits

Participate in root cause analyses for patient-impacting issues

Support change control processes, testing, and release validation

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Nursing, or related field (or equivalent experience)

3+ years of experience supporting clinical applications in a hospital or healthcare environment

Experience working with vendor-supported healthcare software solutions

Understanding of clinical workflows in inpatient settings

Knowledge of healthcare privacy and security requirements, including HIPAA

Clinical Workflow Insight:

Understand inpatient care processes and patient needs

Technical Troubleshooting:

Diagnose and resolve application and integration issues efficiently

Vendor Collaboration:

Ensure vendor solutions align with clinical and operational requirements

User Advocacy:

Champion clinician and patient experience in system design and optimization

Compliance Awareness:

Maintain strict adherence to privacy and security standards

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting telehealth or virtual care platforms

Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and clinical integrations

Experience with HL7, FHIR, or healthcare interface engines

Clinical background (e.g., RN, allied health) or strong clinical informatics experience

ITIL Foundation or experience with service management frameworks

The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $105,000 or the hourly equivalent.
