Software Quality Analyst II (Manual) - Eval Triage
Location: Cupertino, CA (On-Site)
Pay: $30-$40/hr (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Standard Business Hours
Contract Length: 6 months (with opportunity for extension based on performance and demand)

Compensation
You'll earn $30-$40/hour based on your experience level, on a consistent Monday through Friday schedule during standard business hours. This is a 6-month engagement with a real opportunity for extension based on your performance and ongoing project demand.

About This Role
You'll serve as a manual QA analyst focused on evaluation triage - digging into complex, multi-step failures to identify root causes and drive resolution. You'll work on-site in a secure lab environment at a top-tier Silicon Valley tech campus, testing against unreleased hardware and software alongside cross-functional engineering teams.

What You'll Do
You'll perform test planning, test case development, and test execution across mobile and desktop platforms. A major focus of this role is triaging multi-step evaluation failures - reading and interpreting logs, structured data output, and test results to assess failure patterns, group related issues, and pinpoint root causes. You'll review and correct data and configuration errors as part of ongoing evaluation workflows, and file clear, non-duplicate defect reports with thorough root cause analysis. You'll coordinate with cross-functional teams on device-specific issues, escalate key quality concerns, and provide regular reporting on your areas of ownership.

What We're Looking For
You'll be a strong fit with 5 or more years of professional experience as a Software Quality Analyst or in a closely related role. Strong logical reasoning is essential - you need to be someone who can walk through multi-step failures methodically and isolate root causes with precision. You should be comfortable reading structured data formats like JSON and log output, and have a high tolerance for repetitive, high-volume analytical work without sacrificing attention to detail. Experience in test planning, design, authoring, and execution is expected, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You also bring leadership experience - you're comfortable overseeing complex projects and guiding others.
Experience testing mobile devices, hardware, home technologies, or Bluetooth accessories is a plus. A BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience is preferred. You're curious, proactive, and motivated by solving the kinds of problems that most people don't have the patience for.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.
