Role Overview

The Oracle GoldenGate/ Database DR Specialist will be responsible for assessing and optimizing Oracle GoldenGate integration and Disaster Recovery (DR) architectures, with a focus on cloud-native design principles, security compliance, operational health, and database replication reliability. The role requires close collaboration with customer security and infrastructure teams to ensure resilient, secure, and compliant database replication environments. 

Key Responsibilities

·       Assess existing Oracle GoldenGate integration and Disaster Recovery (DR) architectures and develop cloud-native design and modernization strategies.

·       Perform Oracle GoldenGate security validations, execute health checks, and verify security-related scripts and configurations.

·       Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve GoldenGate replication issues, ensuring high availability and data consistency.

·       Collaborate with customer security, infrastructure, and application teams to identify, track, and remediate operational and security-related issues.

·       Review and optimize GoldenGate Extract, Replicat, and replication topology configurations.

·       Support DR planning, testing, validation, and implementation activities.

·       Document architecture assessments, operational procedures, compliance requirements, findings, and recommendations.

·       Provide technical guidance for cloud migration and modernization initiatives involving Oracle Database and GoldenGate environments.

Required Skills & Experience

Oracle GoldenGate

·       Strong hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate administration, configuration, and architecture.

·       Deep understanding of Extract, Replicat, Distribution Server, Receiver Server, and related GoldenGate components.

·       Experience designing and supporting various replication topologies and integration patterns.

·       Expertise in troubleshooting replication latency, performance issues, and data synchronization challenges.

Oracle Database

·       Strong Oracle Database administration and architecture knowledge.

·       Experience supporting Oracle Database environments integrated with GoldenGate.

·       Knowledge of database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high-availability solutions.

Disaster Recovery & Cloud

·       Experience designing and implementing Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions for Oracle Database environments.

·       Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture principles and best practices.

·       Experience migrating on-premises database environments to cloud platforms.

·       Familiarity with cloud-based DR, high availability, and database replication strategies.

Security & Compliance

·       Experience performing security assessments, health checks, and compliance reviews.

·       Ability to coordinate with security teams to address vulnerabilities and operational risks.

·       Strong documentation skills for compliance, audit, and operational reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

·       Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or Azure database services.

·       Knowledge of database security best practices and regulatory compliance frameworks.

·       Oracle Database and/or Oracle GoldenGate certifications.

·       Experience in healthcare or regulated industry environments is a plus.
