UI Accessbility Expert

We are seeking an experienced Front-End Tech Lead to lead the development of Staff MIUI screens, establish engineering standards, and ensure accessibility compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong Angular expertise, formal accessibility certification, and experience leading front-end development and CI/CD improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead front-end architecture and development using Angular, SASS, and HTML.

• Implement and maintain the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS) and State Design System.

• Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508, and applicable accessibility requirements.

• Conduct accessibility testing using automated tools, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and manual keyboard navigation.

• Lead code reviews, mentor developers, and establish coding standards.

• Improve front-end CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.

• Collaborate with Java backend teams on API and service integration.

• Maintain technical documentation and follow secure development practices.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Front-End Tech Lead or Senior Front-End Engineer.

• Expert knowledge of Angular, SASS, and HTML.

• Experience implementing design systems; USWDS strongly preferred.

• Formal accessibility certification: CPACC, WAS, or equivalent.

• Hands-on accessibility testing experience with screen readers and automated tools.

• Strong understanding of CI/CD and front-end deployment workflows.

• Experience mentoring developers, conducting code reviews, and documenting technical processes.

• Knowledge of government security and sensitive data handling requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Section 508 and Title I/Title II accessibility compliance.

• Government or public-sector project experience.

• Experience with enterprise-scale front-end architecture and component libraries.
