SAP Functional Consultant

Location: Salisbury, North Carolina (Remote)

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAP Finance Consultant with deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA Finance and a strong understanding of global accounting processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring and testing software modules to match business needs, analyzing data, and identifying areas for improvement. This role requires a self-starter with strong communication skills who can take high-level functional specifications and build them out into detailed documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and optimize SAP FI modules including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Bank Accounting.
• Implement and enhance S/4HANA Finance innovations, including Universal Journal (ACDOCA), New Asset Accounting, Fiori Apps, and Embedded Analytics.
• Write detailed Functional Specification Documents (FSD) and Business Requirement Documents (BRD) from high-level outlines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless end-to-end process integration and work with development teams on configuration and testing.
• Support integrations with banking platforms, treasury systems, tax engines, and third-party financial applications.
• Provide Level 3 application support, monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and deliver enhancements.
• Validate report requirements and support custom enhancements.
• Support go-live activities, hyper-care, and post-production support.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of SAP FICO consulting experience.
• A minimum of 2 full lifecycle implementations in SAP S/4HANA Finance.
• Strong functional expertise in SAP Finance with demonstrated configuration proficiency in G/L, A/P, A/R, Asset Accounting, and Bank Accounting.
• Hands-on S/4HANA experience, including Fiori apps and Analysis for Office.
• Knowledge of interfaces, IDocs, BAPIs, APIs, and basic debugging.
• Experience supporting financial closing, consolidation, costing, and reporting processes.
• Experience with integrations involving bank connectivity, payment files, lockbox, and automatic bank statements.
• Proficiency in functional and integration testing.
• Experience with multi-company code and multi-currency environments.
• Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
