Reports to: Supply Chain Manager Summary The Supply Chain Optimization Lead analyzes, designs, project manages, implements and improves Supply Chain processes and layouts in accordance with the Company s safety, cost, quality and delivery standards.
The position oversees a team of direct reports, including Specialists and/or Coordinators.
Description Project Planning, Management and Execution - Lead the planning, project management, testing and implementation of optimized solutions - Be a champion for change in the organization - Implement standard and consistent processes across all Plants and in alignment with global guidelines - Develop RFP, obtain and review proposals/quotes and prepare project budgets Continuous Process Improvement
Lead the Analysis, Design and Implementation of Solutions to Optimize: - Plant layouts and materials/inventory flow - Receiving - Warehousing and Logistics - Inventory storage and control - Picking/Packing/Shipping & Transportation - Distribution and global Supply Chain network - SAP Warehouse Management - Systems/equipment/automation Performance Monitoring - Create internal analysis tools - Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPI) using SAP reporting Cross-Functional Collaboration - Lead and develop a team of direct reports (Specialists, Coordinators, etc.), including all performance management, performance reviews and goal setting - Collaborate with Parent Company in Germany and act as a counterpart to the Global Supply Chain and Logistics teams in Germany - Support Management in operational, conceptional, strategic planning and presentation of concepts and solutions - Work cross-functionally with the Supply Chain department, Global Logistics Management team in Germany, Production Managers and Supervisors, ERP/WMS and IT teams, Industrial Engineering, and Facilities/Maintenance
Qualifications Education: - Bachelor s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics Management, Logistics Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent Experience: - 5+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment with Continuous Improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.) - Experience leading a team with direct reports - Project Management and RFP experience - Advanced experience with SAP (WMS, Manufacturing, Reporting) or similar - Advanced ability with MS Excel - Experience with AutoCAD or similar Skills and Key Attributes: - Critical thinking and problem solving - Ability to lead other employees through changes - Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data and draw valid conclusions - Ability to think creatively and proactively propose solutions with attention to detail - Ability to effectively communicate issues and ideas with peers and with management - Ability to build effective working relationships throughout the organization - Ability to shape relationships with new and existing software and equipment suppliers - Ability to manage large multi-departmental projects - Ability to facilitate meetings with cross-functional teams - Ability to operate independently within a deadline driven environment - Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours/day. - Travel: Ability to travel domestically, and occasionally internationally, estimated up to 15%
