Day to Day Job Duties:
Process, analyze, and interpret Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data to support genomics and laboratory testing programs.
Develop, maintain, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines for sequencing and other molecular or lab-based assays.
Perform routine data quality checks, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and reliability of analysis results.
Build and enhance scripts, software tools, and database components to support bioinformatics workflows and reporting needs.
Collaborate with scientists, laboratory teams, technology teams, and client or stakeholder groups to understand requirements and deliver practical data analysis solutions.
Support consulting-led engagements by contributing bioinformatics expertise to solution design, workflow improvement, and data interpretation activities.
Translate scientific and operational needs into scalable analytical approaches, pipeline enhancements, and process recommendations.
Document methods, workflows, assumptions, and results clearly to support knowledge sharing, compliance, and operational continuity.
Participate in cross-functional discussions to identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and help implement innovative bioinformatics solutions.
Provide ongoing support for assay analysis workflows, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives in a consulting and delivery environment.
Basic Qualifications:
Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
2+ years of experience in bioinformatics in an industrial, academic, government, or clinical laboratory environment.
2+ years of hands-on experience processing and analyzing NGS data.
2+ years of experience developing or supporting bioinformatics pipelines for genomics or laboratory testing workflows.
2+ years of programming experience with Python, Perl, SQL, and shell scripting.
Experience working with biological datasets, data validation practices, and analytical troubleshooting.
Ability to work in a cross-functional environment and communicate effectively with scientific, operational, and technical stakeholders.
Exposure to consulting, advisory, or client-facing collaboration is preferred for candidates supporting solution-oriented delivery models.
Strong problem-solving, documentation, and analytical skills with the ability to balance technical depth and business needs.
Travel: Minimal travel; may vary based on client, laboratory, or project needs.
Degree: Master’s or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related field.

Project lead experience
Experience building and deploying end-to-end NGS data analysis pipelines.
Familiarity with clinical laboratory operations, regulated workflows, or diagnostic testing environments.
Experience developing software applications or workflow tools for bioinformatics use cases.
Knowledge of genomics data standards, assay validation practices, and data management approaches.
Strong stakeholder communication and presentation skills in a consulting or collaborative delivery setting.
