About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced
Ansible Engineer to design, build, and support automation solutions across enterprise infrastructure environments. This role will focus on developing Ansible playbooks, modules, and automation workflows that streamline operations, reduce manual work, improve consistency, and enhance reliability.
You will collaborate with infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams to drive automation standards, configuration management practices, and modern infrastructure-as-code approaches.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and support Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation frameworks for configuration management, provisioning, and system operations.
- Design and implement infrastructure automation solutions across servers, middleware, network devices, and cloud environments.
- Build scalable automation pipelines using Ansible Core, Ansible Tower / AWX, and related tools.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to understand requirements and translate them into automated tasks and workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Ansible jobs, integrations, and automation failures.
- Maintain documentation, version-controlled repositories, and automation standards.
- Support integration of Ansible automation with CI/CD pipelines and IT service management processes.
- Assist in defining best practices for infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, security controls, and automation governance.
- Participate in on-call rotations or after-hours support for critical automation issues, when required.
Required Qualifications- Strong hands-on experience developing automation using Ansible (playbooks, roles, variables, inventories, templates).
- Experience with Ansible Tower / AWX (job templates, workflows, credentials, RBAC).
- Solid understanding of Linux system administration (preferably RHEL-based distributions).
- Proficiency with YAML, Jinja2 templating, and scripting languages (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Experience working with Git or other version control systems.
- Understanding of configuration management, infrastructure-as-code principles, and automation best practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure, configuration, or automation issues.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Desired Skills- Experience automating enterprise systems such as Windows Server, network devices, middleware, or storage platforms.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and cloud automation using Ansible collections.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Exposure to DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering practices.
- Understanding of REST APIs and automation integrations with external systems.
- Experience with Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, or other infrastructure-as-code technologies.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Plano, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.24 - $73.68/hr.
