Position Overview
Halvik is seeking a Mid-Level Applications Programmer / .NET-C# Developer to develop, maintain, enhance, and modernize enterprise web applications supporting the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Office of Policy.
The developer will work as part of an Agile application development team supporting mission-critical transportation systems, including the Travel Monitoring Analysis System (TMAS 3.0), Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS 9.0), Policy Information Data Portal (PIDP), and Integrated Transportation Information Platform (ITIP).
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET/.NET Core, SQL, LINQ, web application development, Git, and Agile SDLC processes, along with exposure to Microsoft Azure and modern application modernization practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
7+ years of overall professional IT experience, including at least 5 years of software development/application programming experience.
5+ years of hands-on C# and .NET development experience building enterprise web applications.
Strong knowledge of C#, including LINQ, object-oriented programming, debugging, and application design.
Experience with modern .NET / .NET Core, including experience upgrading or modernizing applications to recent .NET versions.
3+ years of SQL experience, including complex queries, database design/schema development, optimization, and relational databases such as SQL Server or Oracle.
Experience using Git and collaborative source-control practices, including branching and merging.
2+ years of Agile software development experience and strong understanding of SDLC processes.
Experience working with JSON and XML for web-based data exchange and integration.
Experience with IIS 10 and Windows Server environments.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
