Position Overview Citadel Security USA is hiring a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer for a construction project in the Aurora area. This position focuses on monitoring site access, tracking contractor activity, and helping maintain a secure and organized work environment during both afternoon and overnight shifts.
The officer assigned to this location should be comfortable working independently, paying close attention to site activity, and following established procedures throughout the shift. Reliability, awareness, and professional communication are important for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities - Monitor contractor and visitor movement entering and leaving the construction site
- Verify access credentials and confirm authorization before allowing entry
- Maintain a visible presence near entry points and active work areas
- Conduct routine inspections of gates, fencing, and surrounding areas
- Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, or safety concerns
- Assist with maintaining order and site security throughout the shift
- Complete daily activity logs and incident reports accurately and on time
- Communicate with supervisors, site contacts, and management when needed
- Follow all post instructions, safety procedures, and company policies
Minimum Qualifications - Must be at least 18 years old
- Strong observation and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to work both afternoon and overnight schedules consistently
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Dependable attendance and professional conduct required
Preferred Experience - Previous experience in construction security or controlled-access environments
- Familiarity with contractor sign-in and access procedures
- Experience preparing reports or maintaining activity documentation
- Ability to remain focused during overnight assignments
Work Environment - Active construction setting with regular contractor traffic
- Combination of standing, walking, and monitoring site access
- Indoor and outdoor responsibilities depending on assignment needs
- Overnight and daytime shifts requiring consistent awareness and professionalism
