Billing Reconciliation Excel Specialist (Contract Remote)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Excel expert to support a billing systems conversion project by performing detailed billing reconciliation and data validation activities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform billing reconciliation between legacy and new billing systems
Analyze large datasets using advanced Excel functions and tools
Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in billing records
Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency during system migration
Create reconciliation reports, summaries, and audit documentation
Use formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power Query, and other advanced Excel features to automate and streamline reconciliation tasks
Collaborate with project managers, finance teams, and technical stakeholders to resolve data issues
Support testing and validation efforts during billing system cutover
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy with sensitive financial data
Required Qualifications
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong experience with billing reconciliation, financial analysis, or data validation
Experience supporting ERP, billing, or financial system conversions/migrations
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment
Preferred (but not required) Qualifications
Experience with billing platforms, ERP systems, or accounting software
Familiarity with Power Query, Power Pivot, macros, or VBA
Background in finance, accounting, telecommunications, utilities, healthcare billing, or SaaS billing environments
Prior experience in data migration or system implementation projects
