Position Overview
APEX is seeking a
Principal Electronics Test Engineer to support manufacturing test operations for advanced
RF and digital microelectronic hardware within a high-visibility production environment. This role assumes ownership of testing performance and delivery for Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing products and plays a critical role in production readiness, yield improvement, and hardware delivery commitments.

What You'll Be Doing
- Own and improve test methods, procedures, and strategies for production hardware
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting of RF and digital circuit card assemblies (CCAs)
- Debug and disposition CCAs, including fault isolation across digital, analog, RF, and power circuits
- Support First Time Through Test Yield (FTTTY) initiatives and production delivery schedules
- Analyze test data to identify early yield trends and failure patterns
- Define and implement improvements to test equipment, test procedures, or manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with design engineering to implement hardware improvements and corrective actions
- Support and train test technicians on troubleshooting and test processes
- Monitor product yield and aggressively drive corrective action to meet program targets
- Participate in program and production meetings, reporting yield issues, investigations, and resolutions
- Interface with manufacturing leadership, production, test, design, systems, and program teams
Required Qualifications
Principal-Level Candidates Must Have:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
- Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, specifications, block diagrams, and parts lists
- Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting RF and digital hardware
- Solid working knowledge of RF theory and digital circuit design
- Experience with a wide range of RF and digital test equipment, including:
- DMMs
- Power supplies
- Oscilloscopes
- Power meters
- Spectrum analyzers
- Signal generators
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance
- Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Experience with FPGAs and JTAG
- Test software development experience using:
- LabWindows CVI
- C / C++
- TestStand
- Proficiency with digital, analog, RF test equipment, RF theory, and high-speed digital systems
- Familiarity with differential signaling interfaces (e.g., LVDS)
- Experience with PXI/PXIe and VME bus architectures
- Strong hands-on background troubleshooting complex electrical hardware
