Mako's Utilities client is seeking a Monitoring & Observability Engineer / Lead to design and implement an enterprise-wide observability framework. This role will deliver actionable insights across infrastructure and services while aligning observability capabilities with the organization's broader automation and AI strategy.
Key Responsibilities-
Define observability standards, architecture, and operational practices

Integrate monitoring across infrastructure, applications, and services

Establish SLIs, SLOs, and KPIs to measure reliability and performance

Enable proactive alerting and incident reduction through improved visibility

Partner with ServiceNow and SRE teams to connect observability with service management

Leverage observability data to support automation and AI-driven initiatives

Strong experience designing and operating enterprise observability platforms

Knowledge of monitoring, logging, metrics, and tracing best practices

Experience defining SLOs and reliability metrics

Ability to translate monitoring data into operational insights

Alignment with Gartner-recommended observability practices

Experience in utilities or highly regulated environments

Exposure to AI-enabled monitoring or predictive analytics
