Overview

Mako's Utilities client is seeking a ServiceNow Engineer to support modernization and automation across core service management processes. This role will focus on advancing IT Operations Management (ITOM), maturing the Common Service Data Model (CSDM), and implementing Service Mapping to improve visibility, reliability, and governance across the enterprise infrastructure landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance and automate ServiceNow workflows supporting incident, problem, and change management

  • Design and mature CSDM structures to improve service alignment and data consistency

  • Implement and maintain Service Mapping for infrastructure and application dependency visibility

  • Reduce manual, spreadsheet-based processes through platform-native automation

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, SRE, and monitoring teams to align service data and observability

  • Ensure ServiceNow automation aligns with governance, audit, and operational standards

  • Provide documentation, configuration standards, and operational handoff guidance

Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITOM, CSDM, and Service Mapping

  • Experience automating service management workflows in enterprise environments

  • Understanding of infrastructure components (compute, network, cloud) and service relationships

  • Ability to work within regulated or highly governed environments (utilities preferred)

Nice to Have
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with monitoring and observability platforms

  • Exposure to responsible automation or AI-driven service operations

  • Utilities, energy, or critical infrastructure experience
