Job Title: Business Systems Analyst II
Location: 100% Onsite | Nashville, TN 37214
Work Schedule/Shift: Mon-Fri | Minimum 40 work hours per week.
Duration/Length of Assignment: 6+ Month Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: $39.00 per hour
Additional Information: Credit check required during pre-screen. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders with at least 3 years of U.S. residency. Candidates relocating must have a confirmed move-in date and need to attend an onsite interview.

Position Overview:
This position supports a major healthcare-focused technology initiative aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, business support functions, and systems alignment across multiple business units. The IT Business Analyst joins a group that partners directly with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, provide clarity around upcoming system changes, and ensure technology solutions align with organizational objectives. The team operates in a fast-paced environment with heavy cross-department collaboration and frequent interaction with both technical and non-technical groups. In this role, the analyst is responsible for translating business objectives into clear requirements, supporting system development efforts, validating proposed solutions, and guiding stakeholders through the planning and prioritization of ongoing work. The position requires consistent interaction with teams supporting Medicare/Medicaid and broader healthcare operations. The analyst will be responsible for high-volume coordination, documentation, requirements gathering, and oversight of activities necessary to ensure successful delivery of business and technical solutions.

Required Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field; or 4 years of job-related experience; or 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate’s in a related field
- 4 years of IT Business Analysis experience with direct Healthcare and Medicare/Medicaid exposure
- Experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments, with the ability to interpret how IT systems impact business workflows
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including strong working knowledge of Excel and Visio
- Ability to read and provide input on test plans, test matrices, scope documents, project plans, design documentation, and problem logs
- Active certification in CSPO, A-CSPO, PMI-ACP, or CSP-PO from an accredited organization
- Demonstrated understanding of business unit processes, standard industry practices, and organizational procedures
- Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences, with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and conceptual abilities, with the capability to validate business needs and link them to system requirements
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-platform environment with tight deadlines and potential 24x7 response needs; able to delegate tasks appropriately to balance multiple priorities
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
- SAFe Scaled Agile certification
- CBAP certification or demonstrated ongoing professional development in Business Analysis
- Experience mentoring junior staff or contributing to internal training documentation
Day to Day/Responsibilities:
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements by meeting with stakeholders to gather information related to goals, process challenges, system needs, and expected outcomes, ensuring requirements are captured with clarity and organized into a structured format
- Translate business objectives into actionable technical requirements that can be understood by development, QA, architecture, and support teams
- Validate requirements with business partners to ensure alignment on scope, intent, and success criteria
- Guide technical teams and business units through the development cycle by clarifying requirements, answering questions, and ensuring system design aligns with business expectations
- Facilitate communication between customer departments and technical teams, maintaining consistent alignment between project direction and business needs
- Support planning and prioritization sessions by providing context around requirements, business impact, and dependencies
- Provide insight on the operational direction of business units to technical teams to ensure planned solutions follow organizational processes and long-term goals
- Review problem logs, issues, and defect reports to help ensure solutions are implemented accurately and perform as intended
- Assist with the creation and review of test plans, test matrices, scope documentation, and design materials to verify coverage of all outlined requirements
- Validate the need for new solutions, enhancements, or process improvements by assessing gaps and confirming business justification
- Support system change initiatives by providing input regarding business workflows, process impacts, and operational expectations
- Assist in developing and documenting training materials used to support system changes or new processes, including contributing to knowledge transfer for internal teams
- Mentor or provide informal support to less experienced analysts on requirements gathering, documentation standards, and industry best practices
- Utilize Microsoft Office, including Excel for analysis and tracking and Visio for process mapping and workflow documentation
- Operate within Agile or Waterfall methodologies depending on project structure, ensuring adherence to required process guidelines and documentation timelines
- Maintain clear communication across stakeholders, ensuring any changes, clarifications, or risks are escalated appropriately
- Work within a high-demand environment where prioritization and effective delegation are essential to manage multiple parallel initiatives
- Support ongoing business operations requiring timely responses and follow-up based on priority, with potential for after-hours involvement depending on business need
