Job#: 3032706 Job Description: Apex Systems is hiring a Healthcare Data Analyst for a large Healthcare client.Location: Partial remote - 2 days a week onsite in Hyattsville, MD.
Employment Type: 1 year contract with potential to extend or convert.
Role Overview
The Healthcare Data Analyst serves as a subject matter expert supporting financial and claims-based analytics. This role focuses on claims analysis, forecasting, trend evaluation, and delivering actionable insights to business and finance stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings direct healthcare experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex data into clear narratives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform claims-based financial analysis, including trend analysis, forecasting, and variance evaluation.
- Build and maintain forecasting models using claims data and financial datasets.
- Translate complex healthcare data into actionable insights for regional leadership.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and eventually Power BI.
- Conduct data storytelling to help stakeholders understand patterns, risks, and opportunities.
- Work with large datasets, data warehouses, and structured healthcare data systems.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for claims analytics and financial modeling.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Applicants must have 3-7+ years of experience in healthcare analytics or financial/claims analysis, with hands-on experience working with healthcare data, specifically claims data (professional, facility, pharmacy, etc.).
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and Excel is required, along with experience building forecasting models using healthcare datasets. Experience with Tableau is necessary.
Location Requirement: Candidates must reside in DC, Maryland, or Virginia and be able to work onsite in Hyattsville two days per week, including every Wednesday.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Power BI is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is $65.00 per hour. Please note that this is a contract-to-hire position and benefits are not offered during the contract period. Our client intends to hire for this position, and a full benefits package will be available upon conversion to a full-time employee.
