Req 2: Oracle ERP Functional Consultant
Location: San Jose, CA or New York City
Remote: Considered; travel required (onsite delivery at client locations)
Role Summary
The Oracle ERP Functional Consultant will lead the functional design, implementation, and modernization of Oracle ERP systems. This role focuses on translating business requirements into scalable ERP solutions, leveraging AI-driven tools to accelerate delivery, improve process efficiency, and modernize legacy workflows across enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Functional Solution Design & ERP Delivery
- Lead requirement gathering workshops, business process mapping, and fit-gap analysis using AI-assisted tools.
- Design and implement Oracle EBS R12 and/or Fusion Cloud ERP modules including Financials (GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash Management), Procurement, Supply Chain, Project Accounting, Billing, and Costing.
- Define functional specifications (BRDs, FRDs) and collaborate with technical teams for development and integrations.
- Drive ERP transformations by optimizing business processes and aligning them with Oracle best practices.
2. Business Process Optimization & AI Enablement
- Analyze current-state processes and identify automation opportunities using AI-driven insights.
- Recommend and implement process improvements across finance, procurement, and supply chain functions.
- Support AI-enabled workflow optimization, intelligent approvals, and data standardization initiatives.
- Work with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy ERP processes with minimal disruption.
3. Integrations & Data Migration (Functional Oversight)
- Define functional requirements for integrations with third-party systems using REST/SOAP, OIC, and middleware platforms.
- Support data migration activities including data mapping, validation, reconciliation, and testing.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance across ERP modules.
- Collaborate with technical teams on FBDI, ADF-DI, and ETL processes from a functional perspective.
4. Testing, Training & User Adoption
- Lead Conference Room Pilots (CRPs), System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Develop test scenarios, scripts, and validation processes aligned with business requirements.
- Conduct end-user training sessions and create user documentation.
- Drive change management and user adoption strategies for ERP implementations.
5. Client Engagement & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the functional lead for client engagements, ensuring alignment between business needs and ERP capabilities.
- Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, finance teams, and IT leadership.
- Provide strategic guidance on Oracle ERP roadmaps, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
- Support onsite delivery and collaborate with global teams.
6. Enterprise Transformation & Continuous Improvement
- Support ERP modernization initiatives, including migration from Oracle EBS to Fusion Cloud.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and automation across ERP processes.
- Ensure compliance with governance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to building reusable functional assets, templates, and best practices.
Required Functional Skills
- Strong experience with Oracle E-Business Suite (R12) and/or Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.
- Deep functional expertise in modules such as Financials, Procurement, SCM, Project Accounting, and Billing.
- Proven experience in requirement gathering, fit-gap analysis, and functional design documentation.
- Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or migrations.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes (P2P, O2C, R2R).
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to AI-driven enterprise tools or automation platforms.
- Experience working with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) from a functional perspective.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
