JOB SUMMARY

Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead a complex, multi-year application rationalization and modernization program involving three existing Salesforce applications: SPARTN, Watch List, and DAG.
The selected candidate will lead the initiatives from current-state assessment and requirements gathering through platform evaluation, solution selection, implementation, data migration, testing, deployment, and transition to operations. This role requires strong project leadership, Salesforce knowledge, financial management, cross-functional coordination, and executive-level communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
Program & Project Leadership
  • Lead application rationalization initiatives for SPARTN, Watch List, and DAG from requirements definition through platform selection, implementation, migration, deployment, and operational transition.
  • Manage multiple related projects, applications, and workstreams concurrently within a multi-year program.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated roadmap covering requirements, solution evaluation, procurement, implementation, data migration, integrations, testing, security, training, deployment, and operational transition.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, milestones, risks, issues, assumptions, decisions, resources, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Develop mitigation and recovery plans for scope, schedule, budget, resource, vendor, and technical risks.
  • Proactively identify issues, challenge assumptions, drive decisions, and ensure action items are completed.

Application Rationalization & Salesforce Transition
  • Assess existing Salesforce applications and document functionality, integrations, data, workflows, reporting, security, user groups, and operational dependencies.
  • Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with business, operational, technical, and safety stakeholders.
  • Identify capabilities to retain, improve, replace, consolidate, or retire.
  • Partner with Architecture and Digital Technology teams to evaluate internal platforms and commercial replacement solutions.
  • Coordinate solution and vendor evaluations based on functional fit, technical compatibility, cybersecurity, integrations, scalability, supportability, implementation complexity, cost, and long-term value.
  • Ensure future-state solutions address data migration, data quality, retention, integrations, security, testing, reporting, user adoption, cutover, and legacy-system retirement.
  • Maintain traceability from current-state functionality and approved requirements through design, development, testing, and implementation.

Cross-Functional Technology Coordination
  • Lead and coordinate Salesforce architects, enterprise architects, developers, cybersecurity teams, business analysts, data/integration specialists, quality-control teams, technical leads, and third-party vendors.
  • Translate business and operational needs into defined technical workstreams and measurable deliverables.
  • Manage dependencies and communication across the Digital Technology organization.
  • Establish clear accountability for decisions, action items, deliverables, approvals, risks, and handoffs.
  • Ensure technical teams and vendors remain aligned with approved scope, priorities, timelines, budgets, and architectural standards.
  • Communicate technical issues and solution options effectively to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Project Governance & Documentation
  • Develop and maintain project documentation and governance artifacts required by formal system-development and project-delivery methodologies.
  • Prepare projects for formal reviews, approvals, and quality gates.
  • Ensure PMO processes, documentation standards, and reporting requirements are followed.
  • Maintain detailed project plans, status reports, risk and issue logs, decision logs, action-item trackers, dependency logs, financial reports, and executive dashboards.
  • Escalate material risks, financial variances, resource constraints, technical concerns, and leadership decisions as appropriate.

Financial Management
  • Develop and maintain detailed project financial forecasts covering internal/external labor, vendors, software licensing, infrastructure, platform acquisition, implementation costs, and other project expenses.
  • Manage monthly and quarterly actuals, commitments, invoices, accruals, forecast updates, and budget variances.
  • Maintain monthly financial forecast accuracy within approximately ±5%.
  • Calculate and explain actual-to-forecast and forecast-to-budget variances.
  • Ensure project financial information is accurate, current, documented, and aligned with delivery plans.
  • Provide financial reporting to Safety & Security leadership, Digital Technology executives, Finance, Enterprise PMO, and the Value Management Office.

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
  • Provide weekly and monthly project status reports, dashboards, executive summaries, financial updates, risk reports, and decision requests.
  • Communicate effectively with technical teams, operational users, vendors, PMO leadership, Finance, the Value Management Office, and senior executives.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops, technical discussions, vendor sessions, governance reviews, and executive briefings.
  • Present complex technical, financial, and delivery information clearly and in a decision-oriented manner.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships through transparency, responsiveness, preparation, and consistent follow-through.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • PMP certification.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT project management experience.
  • Proven experience leading complex enterprise application development, modernization, migration, replacement, or rationalization initiatives.
  • Direct experience managing Salesforce projects with a strong understanding of the Salesforce application environment.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams spanning Architecture, Cybersecurity, Development, Quality Control, business operations, vendors, and executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications
