Overview The Quality Assurance Performance Engineer plays a hybrid role, combining software development and testing expertise to ensure the performance, stability, and resiliency of enterprise applications. This individual designs and builds testing frameworks, tools, stubs, and mocks, while also developing and executing comprehensive performance and stress tests.
The role involves analyzing results, performing root cause analysis, and delivering actionable recommendations to improve system reliability and scalability. Working across both traditional and modern architectures, patterns, and technology stacks, the engineer partners closely with development teams to support high-performing, robust applications and database systems.
The Quality Assurance Performance Engineer will: - Is responsible for developing and maintaining performance test scripts in a prioritized and standardized manner as identified by the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager, Director and Product Line Director
- Coordinates and organizes requested performance testing and verification of assigned products to ensure the delivery of top-level software products to external clients
- Participates in performance status calls with team members and management
- Supports and understands the basic workflow of products assigned for performance testing
- Possesses good verbal and written communication skills
- Provides weekly metrics to management
- Adjusts timelines/requests based on resource project allocations
- Monitors the verification of product's performance
Other Duties: - Maintains working relationships with all internal departments
- Participates in presentations as Subject Matter Expert (SME)

- 1+ years' experience with Performance testing tools such as NeoLoad, LoadRunner, JMeter, SoapUI etc.
- 1+ years' experience writing utilities/tools/frameworks in C#, Java, Python, JavaScript etc.
- 1+ years' experience with SQL/NoSQL to generate data for performance testing
- 1+ years' experience with application monitoring tools like SiteScope, Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic etc.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software design
- Exposure to Unix/Linux operating systems
- Exposure to Azure Cloud Platform Products and Amazon Web Services
- Proficient in the Software Development Life Cycle
- Learns new software as needed

Compensation: Salary at DSS Inc is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of DSS, Inc. total compensation package for employees.
