Overview You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for web-based applications designed to support Hospital Departments. You will serve as the vital bridge between our development teams and clinical end-users, ensuring that delivered solutions meet real-world operational needs in high-stakes healthcare environments.
The Quality Assurance Analyst, User Acceptance Testing will: - Develop comprehensive UAT Test Plans that align with project scope, business requirements, and clinical workflows specific to hospital surgery/procedure departments
- Define UAT entry and exit criteria, test objectives, timelines, resource requirements, and risk assessments that reflect real-world surgical department workflows and other hospital procedures, including scheduling, pre-operative processing, post-operative documentation, and reporting
- Execute UAT test scripts in collaboration with clinical end-users, capturing results with precision and consistency
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clinical users and departmental stakeholders throughout the UAT lifecycle
- Proactively communicate with Hospital Department staff, including Surgeons, Nurses, Administrative Personnel, and Department Managers, to schedule and facilitate UAT sessions
- Facilitate UAT sign-off meetings and obtain formal approval from authorized clinical representatives.
Other Skills:
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Developers to ensure full traceability between requirements and test coverage
- Identify and document test environments, data requirements, and system dependencies
- Develop and maintain Regression Test Suites to validate that existing application functionality is preserved following system updates, patches, or enhancements
- Perform smoke testing and sanity checks on new application builds prior to UAT commencement
- Log, track, and prioritize defects using defect management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar)
- Clearly document defects with reproducible steps, expected versus actual results, screenshots, and severity/priority classifications
- Liaise with development teams to facilitate timely defect resolution and conduct defect retesting
- Produce UAT summary reports including test metrics, defect statistics, pass/fail rates, and go-live recommendations
- Conduct UAT orientation sessions to brief clinical users on testing objectives, procedures, and their roles
- Manage UAT calendars, booking testing sessions around clinical availability and operational constraints
- Gather, document, and communicate user feedback to the development and project teams in a structured and actionable manner

Required Skills: - Proficiency in writing and executing Test Plans, Test Cases, and Test Scripts
- Experience with Regression Testing methodologies and maintenance of regression test libraries
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with clinical and non-technical stakeholders, including medical professionals
- Excellent organizational and scheduling skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments and time-sensitive clinical environments
- Demonstrated client relationship management skills with a professional and empathetic approach
Preferred Skills: - Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, or equivalent
- Working knowledge of web application testing across multiple browsers and devices
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) for documentation and communication
- Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, or healthcare interoperability standards is an advantage
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare IT environment
- High attention to detail with a methodical and analytical mindset
- Comfortable facilitating virtual and in-person testing sessions with end-users
Education: - Required: Bachelor degree in Computer Sciences
- Preferred:
- Master degree in computer sciences
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Hospital Information System (HIS) platforms
- Knowledge of hospital workflow processes or perioperative care environments
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA, HL7, or local health data privacy legislation
Certification(s), Licenses: - Preferred:
- ISTQB Foundation Level Certification (or higher)
- Licensed Nurse
Years of experience in a similar role: - Required: 2+ experience in client presentations of software applications
- Desired: Any additional applicable experience
Salary at DSS Inc is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,000 to $68,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of DSS, Inc. total compensation package for employees.
