RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Manager, Clinical Bioinformatics Operations in Marlborough, MA.

The Opportunity:
A leading national health technology firm is seeking a high-caliber Senior Manager of Bioinformatics Operations to lead a regional team dedicated to scaling high-throughput clinical diagnostics. In this leadership role, you will bridge the gap between complex genomic engineering and daily lab operations, ensuring our precision medicine pipeline remains stable, compliant, and cutting-edge.

The Role:
As a regional operational lead, you will oversee the deployment, validation, and maintenance of automated computational pipelines. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders-including laboratory scientists, IT infrastructure, and R&D engineers-to deliver high-quality diagnostic applications that meet rigorous clinical turnaround times and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership: Mentor a regional team of 5-7 bioinformatics scientists and contractors, fostering a culture of technical excellence and accountability
* Operational Oversight: Manage daily production pipelines, ensuring 24/7 service levels and performance targets are met for patient reporting
* Production Support: Collaborate with wet-lab operations to troubleshoot processing issues and manage incident response for production environments
* Process Engineering: Drive best practices in CI/CD, workflow orchestration, and system health monitoring to ensure "always-on" availability
* Compliance & Data Integrity: Maintain robust documentation for regulatory audits and ensure secure, compliant archival of sensitive genomic data
* Strategic Alignment: Partner with peer managers to standardize operational frameworks and support the rollout of new diagnostic products
* Professional Development: Implement training modules and competency assessments to upskill the technical team

REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience: 7+ years in bioinformatics, computational biology, or software engineering within a production environment
* Technical Stack: Proficiency in Python, R, Shell scripting, SQL, and cloud architecture (AWS preferred)
* Domain Expertise: Hands-on experience with secondary analysis tools (aligners, variant callers) and clinical interpretation workflows
* Leadership: Proven track record of managing technical teams and delivering "clinical-grade" software solutions
* Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with high-complexity laboratory environments (e.g., CAP/CLIA or similar quality frameworks)
* Communication: Ability to translate complex technical challenges into actionable strategy for non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Experience:
* Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in a relevant computational field
* Experience integrating with LIMS or third-party variant interpretation platforms
* Familiarity with Agile methodologies and managing distributed or international teams
