Senior Power Platform Developer (AI & Automation Focus)
12-months initial contract
Professional Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Power Platform Developer (Contractor) to design, build, and scale enterprise-grade solutions leveraging the Microsoft Power Platform and advanced AI capabilities. This role requires a proven expert with 5+ years of deep Power Platform experience, capable of delivering complex, production-ready solutions in large, governed environments.
The contractor will be responsible for architecting and implementing secure, scalable, and AI-enabled applications and automations, including the creation of AI Agents using Copilot Studio and related AI services. The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy, provide technical leadership, and deliver measurable business outcomes while adhering to enterprise standards for security, governance, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Power Platform Solution Design & Development
Architect, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Power Platform solutions using Power Apps (Canvas & Model Driven), Power Automate, Dataverse, and Power BI
Design reusable components, frameworks, and patterns to support scalability, performance, and maintainability
Build complex workflows, integrations, and business logic using advanced Power Automate patterns including error handling, parallel execution, and custom connectors
Assist solution design reviews and provide technical direction and best practices across teams
AI Agents & Intelligent Automation (Advanced)
Design, build, and deploy AI Agents using Copilot Studio, Azure, SnowFlake, SQL, and Power Platform AI capabilities
Integrate AI Agents into business processes for:
Conversational automation
Intelligent decision support
Natural language interfaces over enterprise data
Implement prompt engineering, orchestration logic, and grounding strategies to ensure reliable, secure, and explainable AI outcomes
Scale AI-enabled solutions while maintaining governance, performance, and cost controls
Enterprise Integration & Architecture
Integrate Power Platform solutions with Azure services, REST APIs, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, SQL, SharePoint, and external systems
Design secure data models in Dataverse, including complex relationships, business rules, and role-based security
Ensure solutions align with enterprise security, compliance, and data governance standards
Governance, ALM & Performance
Implement and follow Power Platform governance and ALM best practices, including solution layering, environment strategy, and CI/CD pipelines
Support deployment automation and source control using approved DevOps practices
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize solution performance, automation reliability, and platform capacity usage
Technical Leadership & Advisory
Act as a technical authority for Power Platform and AI solution design
Provide guidance, code reviews, and knowledge transfer to internal developers and stakeholders as required
Contribute to Center of Excellence (CoE) standards, documentation, and architectural guidance
Evaluate new Power Platform and AI features and advise on enterprise adoption strategies
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of professional experience developing solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform
Advanced expertise in:
Power Apps (Canvas & Model Driven)
Power Automate (cloud flows, approvals, integrations)
Dataverse (data modeling, security, performance)
Proven experience building and deploying AI Agents using Copilot Studio or equivalent conversational AI platforms
Strong understanding of AI integration patterns, prompt engineering, and enterprise AI governance
Experience integrating Power Platform with Azure services, APIs, and enterprise data platforms
Solid understanding of:
Application lifecycle management (ALM)
Security, compliance, and governance in enterprise environments
Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver outcomes in a consulting or contract capacity
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience supporting Refining, Oil & Gas, Energy, or downstream operations, including exposure to operational, maintenance, reliability, safety, or commercial data domains
Experience with Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, or custom LLM integrations
Microsoft certifications such as PL 400, PL 600, AZ 204, AI 102, or equivalent
Prior experience supporting or leading a Power Platform Center of Excellence
Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Synapse, or modern data platforms
Experience delivering high-volume, mission-critical Power Platform solutions
Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder advisory skills
