About the Position:

South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) seeks a highly motivated and qualified candidate to fill a part-time IT Support Technician 1 (Part-Time) position in the Information Technology Services department.

This job posting is only for the individual who has been asked by SPSCC to complete an application. This position will work no more than 69 hours per month.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide Tier 1 Troubleshooting / Technical Support for computers, podiums, peripherals, software, and accounts. Escalate more complex issues to IT Technicians.
  • Provide proactive support of Healthcare classroom technologies such as computer updates, patching, and podium testing
  • Provide basic removal and installation of hardware such as computers, monitors, and cables.
  • Perform basic testing of computer systems to ensure they are operational.
  • Upgrade hardware in computers (RAM, Hard Disks, Battery Replacements).
  • Assist with relocation and surplus of hardware such as monitors and computers.
  • Install Operating Systems and Applications on computers.
  • Assist with Computer Inventory, which may include scanning, tagging, and moving of hardware.
  • Assist with laptop check-out and Help Desk support.
Qualifications You Possess:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 12 months of experience with computers and a two-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be reliable and available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Must have own transportation.

Conditions of Part-Time Employment
Non-permanent employees under the provisions of WAC 357-19-435 are only authorized to work up to a maximum of 18 months from the original date of hire. Employment with the college could end at any time.

Benefit Information

Hourly non-permanent employees accrue vacation, sick, personal holiday, personal leave, and holiday credit. These accruals are prorated based on the hours worked in the prior month for both vacation and sick leave. The personal holiday and personal leave types only accrue after 4 months of continuous employment with the college.
