We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior Data Engineer with strong architectural acumen and hands-on expertise in Informatica and Snowflake. In this role, you will work closely with solution architects, operations teams, and cross-functional partners in an Agile environment to modernize legacy Informatica PowerCenter workloads by migrating them to Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS/IDCS) on Azure. You will also lead Snowflake performance optimization efforts to ensure efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
This is an individual-contributor position requiring technical depth, independent execution, and excellent collaboration skills to ensure a smooth migration and successful transition to support teams.
Key Responsibilities Data Pipeline Migration & Development (60%) - Redesign and migrate existing Informatica PowerCenter mappings, workflows, and sessions to Informatica Cloud (IICS/IDCS) on Azure.
- Develop, test, validate, and deploy cloud-based ETL pipelines with a focus on scalability, reliability, and data integrity.
- Perform end-to-end QA to ensure seamless functioning of migrated data integration components.
Snowflake Performance Optimization (30%) - Analyze Snowflake metadata using ACCOUNT_USAGE and INFORMATION_SCHEMA to identify performance bottlenecks.
- Optimize query patterns, warehouse sizing, and resource usage to improve efficiency and reduce compute cost.
- Implement tuning strategies and proactively monitor Snowflake workloads to maintain peak performance.
Collaboration, Deployment & Support Transition (10%) - Coordinate with operations and cross-functional teams to plan deployment strategies and resolve operational issues.
- Prepare detailed documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials for post-migration support.
- Ensure a smooth handoff of pipelines and enhancements to support teams.
Required Skills & Experience - ETL & Informatica Expertise:
5+ years of hands-on experience with data integration and ETL development, including advanced skills in Informatica PowerCenter (9.x or later). - Cloud Migration Experience:
Proven experience migrating PowerCenter workloads to Informatica Cloud (IICS/IDMC) on Azure, including redesign, testing, and validation. - Snowflake Proficiency:
Strong command of Snowflake architecture, SnowSQL, metadata exploration, and performance tuning.
Snowflake certification (e.g., SnowPro Core) or equivalent demonstrable experience required. - Data Management & SQL Skills:
Expertise in SQL, dimensional modeling, metadata management, and ETL/ELT best practices.
Experience with query tuning and optimizing data warehouse performance. - Communication & Collaboration:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to operate autonomously while collaborating effectively with architects, operations, and support teams.
Preferred Qualifications - Azure Data & Analytics:
Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and related cloud services. - DevOps & CI/CD:
Familiarity with Git-based version control and CI/CD practices for ETL deployment. - BI & Analytics Tools:
Understanding of Power BI or similar tools and how data pipeline performance impacts reporting and analytics.
