Position Summary
The Technical Lead, Application Operations provides hands-on technical leadership for enterprise applications
hosted in Windows Server and IIS environments. The role leads complex incident resolution, application
deployment, performance analysis, root cause analysis, automation, and technical mentoring across production
support teams.
Core Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Serve as the technical escalation point for complex application, infrastructure, database, and integration issues.
Lead major incident troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
Mentor support engineers and establish practical troubleshooting, documentation, and operational standards.
Coordinate technical work across development, infrastructure, database, network, and security teams.
Application & Infrastructure
Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IIS-hosted applications on Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
Support legacy .NET Framework components and current .NET runtimes.
Manage IIS websites, application pools, virtual directories, authentication, bindings, and web services.
Troubleshoot UNITY, DNS, SSL certificates, service connectivity, and F5 configuration.
Diagnostics & Performance
Enable and analyze IIS logs, Failed Request Tracing, HTTP errors, application logs, and Windows Event Viewer
events.
Review XML configuration files, including web.config, and use Chromium-based browser developer tools for clientside
diagnostics.
Use Dynatrace to assess application health, dependencies, response time, errors, and resource utilization.
Drive performance analysis, proactive monitoring, alert improvement, and recurring-issue reduction.
Database Support
Use SQL and Oracle SQL Developer for application troubleshooting, data validation, and connectivity analysis.
Support application integrations with Oracle 19c, SQL Server, and MySQL.
Partner with database administrators on query, connectivity, and performance issues.
Automation & DevOps
Develop PowerShell and Python automation for administration, diagnostics, monitoring, evidence collection, and
remediation.
Use GitHub and CMVC for version control and controlled management of scripts and configuration artifacts.
Use Microsoft Copilot to assist with technical research, scripting, documentation, and troubleshooting while
validating output and following data-handling requirements.
Required Technical Capabilities
Infrastructure & OS: UNITY; Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022; IIS; web services; SSL certificates; DNS; F5.
Application Platform: IIS application pools and sites; legacy .NET Framework; current .NET; XML; Chromium
developer tools.
Databases: Oracle 19c; Oracle SQL Developer; relational Oracle databases; SQL Server; MySQL; SQL querying.
Scripting & DevOps: PowerShell; Python; GitHub; CMVC.
Monitoring & Operations: Dynatrace; production support; performance analysis; incident management; root
cause analysis.
Architecture: Working understanding of cloud-based, on-premises, SaaS, and hybrid application deployment
models.
Qualifications
Hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Windows Server and IIS-hosted enterprise applications.
Experience leading complex production incidents, technical investigations, or application support escalations.
Ability to troubleshoot across application, operating system, database, browser, network, and load-balancing layers.
Ability to create clear runbooks, root cause analyses, technical standards, and stakeholder communications.
Experience mentoring technical staff and guiding work without losing hands-on ownership.

Preferred
Experience supporting regulated, financial services, SaaS, or hybrid application environments.
Familiarity with Active Directory, LDAP, Single Sign-On, ITIL practices, and controlled change management.
