PC Technician - Lafayette, LA (6 month contract)

Description

Our TEKsystems client, headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, serves patients across Louisiana and Mississippi through a network of hospitals, clinics, physicians, elderly housing, and integrated information systems.
Our TEKsystems client's in Lafayette, Louisiana is looking for a PC Technician on a contract basis to assist with hardware deployments at new construction sites and new cl,inics, while providing excellent customer service. This will be a 6 month contract.
There are several PCs and desktops that will need to be deployed, replaced, and installed. The organization is currently undergoing a Windows 11 upgrade, a renovation at the hospital, the opening of a new floor at the main hospital, and the addition of new clinics. These resources will help deploy new hardware including phones, computers, and Dell laptops.
The technicians will be required to:
  • Unbox new equipment
  • Image devices using SCCM (training and instructions provided)
  • Asset tag equipment
  • Decommission old equipment
  • Deploy new hardware

These resources may also assist the onsite Desktop Support team, which provides Tier I support tickets escalated from the Helpdesk and is customer-facing onsite. Responsibilities include supporting hardware and software issues, installs, upgrades, and configuration requests.
Candidates should be familiar with:
  • Hardware troubleshooting
  • Ticketing systems
  • Active Directory (machine lookups, OU associations, etc.)

They follow centralized processes for building laptops, desktops, and thin clients. The environment is heavy on thin clients, including editing, configuring, and setup. Support includes wall-mounted cabinets in patient rooms (motorized cabinets with adjustable keyboard trays), WOWs (workstations on wheels), mobile devices, iPhones, desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.

Our TEKsystems client places a high emphasis on customer service (think Disney-level customer experience). Strong technical skills, communication, and documentation are required.
Candidates must be:
  • Highly organized
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to manage multiple priorities daily

Technicians will occasionally need to enter patient rooms and must be comfortable doing so. In rare situations, technicians may need to enter an operating room (typically avoided and handled by tenured full-time employees when possible).
Basic hand-tool experience is required for assembling hardware devices.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $22.00/hr.
