Description:
AgreeYa is a global systems integrator seeking a highly skilled Oracle DBA (Site Reliability Engineering focus) to join our Data Center Engineering team. This role is ideal for a technically strong database professional with experience in managing mission-critical Oracle environments while also contributing to system reliability, automation, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high availability, performance, and scalability of Oracle database systems while working closely with infrastructure, platform, and application teams. This role also requires participation in incident management, disaster recovery planning, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with SRE principles.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Oracle databases (9i, 10g, 11g, 12c, 19c)
- Configure and administer Oracle database environments including standalone and clustered systems
- Monitor and optimize database performance, capacity, and availability
- Implement and support backup and recovery strategies using RMAN integrated with CommVault/NetApp
- Design, plan, and support disaster recovery (DR) processes and high availability solutions
- Support Oracle database migration and upgrade activities
- Implement and manage replication using Oracle GoldenGate
- Develop automation scripts using Shell scripting (Perl is a plus)
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortem reviews
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability and prevent failures
- Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical guidance
Required Skills & Experience:
- 4 7 years of experience as an Oracle DBA in production environments
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c)
- Expertise in performance tuning, RMAN backup/recovery, and Data Guard
- Experience with Oracle GoldenGate replication
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in mission-critical environments
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation
- Proficiency in Shell scripting and automation
- Experience supporting high-availability and clustered database environments
- Exposure to incident management and escalation handling
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with PostgreSQL database administration
- Knowledge of Perl scripting
- Experience working in hybrid environments (on-premise + cloud)
- Familiarity with backup tools such as CommVault and NetApp
Education Required:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field
