Technical Project/Program Management - Technical Program Manager II

Location: Redmond, Washington (Onsite)

Role Overview

The Technical Program Manager is responsible for the definition, implementation, and delivery of complex, cross-functional programs involving multiple interdependent projects. This role requires strategic planning, communication, and collaboration across engineering, vendor partners, and internal business teams to ensure delivery within scope, quality, time, and budget constraints. The key project involves a wearables electrical engineering hardware device.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver programs within defined scope, quality, schedule, and budget constraints, navigating moderate risk factors.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives requiring broad alignment and coordination across engineering, operations, and vendor teams.
  • Manage overseas contract manufacturing vendors, interfacing with their engineering teams and overseeing program management.
  • Oversee all phases from design through "OK to Fab," including work with flexes, rigid boards, and hardware design processes.
* Lead scope definition, requirements gathering, documentation, and timeline estimation.* Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, status reports, and communication plans.* Oversee budget management, resource allocation, contingency planning, and risk mitigation.* Drive the use of program-level issue/bug tracking and risk management tools.* Manage the creation and maintenance of build matrixes across multiple configurations.* Foster team collaboration, uphold accountability, and drive issue resolution.Required Qualifications

Experience:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience is required.
  • Proven track record managing cross-functional programs, complex schedules, and risk management frameworks in large organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in project and program management, particularly in environments involving vendor coordination.
  • Experience delivering technology and business application solutions within large-scale, multi-platform systems.
  • Some level of electrical engineering experience, primarily interfacing with and managing an electrical engineering team, scheduling milestones, and elevating key issues and risks.
  • Proficiency with project estimating, scheduling, and tracking in large organizations.


Skills:
  • Strong background in program issue/bug tracking and risk management frameworks.
  • Ability to adapt and exercise sound judgment in rapidly changing environments with competing priorities.
  • Aptitude for understanding business processes and collaborating effectively across organizational levels.
  • Capability in assessing risks and applying technology-related management principles.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
* Strong people management and team-building skills.

Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • An MBA or a related advanced degree is preferred.
  • PMP or PMI certification is preferred.
  • Mandarin language proficiency.
  • Additional experience developing field matrices with a wide range of configuration options.
